Additional Product Information
The Boston Bruins are one of the Original Six, the 6 teams that formed the foundation for the NHL. Boston Garden was home to the Bruins since the arena’s third day open, November 20, 1928, when it hosted the Bruins versus the Canadiens. The arena was originally named Boston Madison Square Garden as it was designed by Tex Rickard who founded the New York Rangers and built the third Madison Square Garden. Rickard, who also promoted boxing, aimed to build an arena with this sport in mind. Thus fans were very close to the action and this was thought to have contributed to the Bruin’s hometown advantage. Boston Garden has hosted sixteen Stanley Cup Finals and in 1957 it became the first arena to host the NBA and Stanley Cup Finals in the same year.
