The only player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a Toronto Blue Jay, Roberto Alomar has oft been considered one of the greatest Blue Jays of all time. Brought to Toronto in a blockbuster trade that also included fellow Jays legend Joe Carter, the two would go on to win back-to-back World Series Championships in 1992 and 1993.
Not only was Alomar a defensive wizard at second base, he was also a threat whenever he stepped up to the plate. As a switch hitter, his ability to hit from both sides of the plate made his presence even more of a threat to opposing teams. His offensive production took off in 1991 following his trade to the Blue Jays from the San Diego Padres, raising his average above .300, finishing third in the AL Batting Title race in 1993, and culminating with two World Series Championships in 1992 and 1993. He would stay with the Blue Jays until 1995, when he signed with the Baltimore Orioles the following season.
Alomar would be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame alongside fellow Blue Jays legend and former General Manager Pat Gillick in 2011, forever cementing himself in Toronto Blue Jays history.
